Mr. Edgar MARTIN, 74, of Baie Ste-Anne, passed away on May 25, 2003, at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Baie Ste-Anne, he was the son of the late Edward and Roseanne [ROBICHAUD] MARTIN. He was a merchant, and operated Martins General Store. He was a member of Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church.<br /> He is survived by his wife, Marie Alma [GIBBS]; daughters: Monique MARTIN, Liette THERIAULT [Ernest], both of Baie Ste-Anne; Astrid OHARA [Tony], of Fredericton; Danielle MANUEL [Eugene], of Baie Ste-Anne; sisters: Therese DURELLE [Yvon], Laurinda MARTIN [Gerard], of Baie Ste-Anne; brother, Irenee MARTIN, of Baie Ste-Anne, NB; grandchildren: Rene THERIAULT, Alain THERIAULT, Kyle OHARA, Avery OHARA, Mathieu MANUEL, and Luc MANUEL; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.<br /> He is predeceased by brothers, Aurele MARTIN, and Clement MARTIN; and sister, Celine MARTIN.<br /> The remains rested at Baie Ste-Anne Slumberoom, on Tuesday, from 7-9, Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9, and Thursday from 2 pm until the Mass of Christian Burial, at 4 pm which was held at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Normand Drisdelle officiating, assisted by Fr. Fidele LeBlanc, Fr. Robert Savoy, and Fr. Yvon Arsenault. Readings and Intersessions were read by Francois MARTIN. Cross bearer was Clement MARTIN. The Golden Age Club formed a guard of honor.<br /> Active pallbearers were: Ernest THERIAULT, Eugene MANUEL, Tony OHARA, Darrell MARTIN, Elveris MARTIN, and Paul DURELLE. Honorary pallbearers were: Roger DUGAS, Donald GAUDET, Marc MARTIN, Frank DOUCET, Elvery MARTIN, Rene THERIAULT, Patrick E. MARTIN, and Ronald POIRIER.<br /> Interment was in Ste. Anne Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Mahers Funeral Home, Miramichi.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - June 3, 2003
