A 63-year-old man was killed when struck by a car at Escuminac, about 20 miles east of Chatham, Thursday evening.<br /> Allison D. MARTIN, of Escuminac, was crossing Highway No. 37 when he walked into the path of an automobile driven by Alvin Durelle, also of Escuminac. He died instantly of multiple skull fractures, according to Northumberland County Coroner Dr. P.J. Losier, of Chatham. The driver was alone at the time of the accident, said RCMP of the County Detachment at Newcastle.<br /> Dr. Losier viewed the body and ruler neither inquest nor autopsy would be necessary.<br /> The victim is survived by his wife, Melinda NOWLAN; and a daughter, Delima, of Campbellton.<br /> Source: Miramichi Press - January 27, 1965
