Wilfred M. MANUEL, 92, of R.R. 1, Baie Ste. Anne, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 1997 at Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Baie Ste. Anne, he was the son of the late Maxime and Susanne [DUPLESSIS] MANUEL. He was a fisherman and a carpenter, and attended Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Second World War.<br /> He is survived by two sons, Edmond, of London, Ont., Aubin, of Baie Ste. Anne; three daughters, Annette LEWIS [Maurice] and Laurina McINTYRE [George], of Baie Ste. Anne, and Ola McLENAGHAN [Blair], of Markham, Ont.; one sister, Caroline ROBICHAUD [Raphael], of Baie Ste. Anne; one brother, James MANUEL [Virginia], of Baie Ste. Anne; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.<br /> The remains rested at Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church from where the mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, at 11 a.m.<br /> Active pallbearers were: Ronald and Adrien MANUEL, Blair and Michael McLENAGHAN, Shawn McINTYRE, and Jean Paul BREAU. Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters: Jodie PRIDHAM, Denise WALTERS, Suzanne and Megan MANUEL, Kimberley McINTYRE, and Tammy McLENAGHAN.<br /> Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangement were in the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Chatham.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - May 20, 1997
