Mrs. Edith M. MANUEL, 91, of Hardwicke North Co., passed away Sunday, July 21, 1996 at Mount St. Joseph Home. Born in Baie Ste. Anne, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary [DOUCET] MARTIN. She was a homemaker, and attended the Roman Catholic Church in Hardwicke.<br /> She is survived by one son, Harold, of Hardwicke; and an adopted son, William SCOTT, of Oshawa, Ont.; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.<br /> She is predeceased by her husband, Allison. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.<br /> The remains rested at the church slumber room in Baie Ste. Anne. Mass of Christian burial was held at the Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church Tuesday at 4 p.m. with Fr. Robert Savoie officiating.<br /> Active pallbearers were: Daryl, Michael and Edmond MANUEL, Armond ROBICHAUD, Wesley LLOYD and Maglorie MARTIN. Honorary pallbearers were: Yvon GINGRAS, James MANUEL, Jean Paul THERIAULT, Alyre MARTIN, Wilfred MCLENAGHAN and Eloie DURELLE.<br /> Interment was in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hardwicke. Arrangements were under the care of Maher`s Funeral Home, Chatham.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - July 30 & Aug. 6, 1996 [Note:July obit states Wm. Scott a cousin; Aug. obit states adopted son]
