David MANUEL, of 268 Park St., Moncton, and formerly of Baie Ste. Anne, died Friday, March 16, 1984 at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Baie Ste. Anne 76 years ago, he was a son of the late Maxime and Susan [MARTIN] MANUEL. He was a veteran of the First World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Josephine HEBERT; one son, Ronald, of Baie Ste. Anne; one daughter, Mrs. Antoinette MacINTYRE, of Baie Ste. Anne; two brothers, James and Fred, both of Baie Ste. Anne; one sister, Mrs. Caroline ROBICHAUD, of Baie Ste. Anne; and nine grandchildren.
The body rested at the Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church where mass was celebrated Sunday afternoon, March 18 by Rev. Alphonse Richard.
Honorary pallbearers were: Emile DAIGLE, Jean Paul THERIAULT, Auguste MANUEL, Eric DAIGLE, David SAVOY and Francis DOUCET. Active pallbearers were: Ulysse MANUEL, Adrian MANUEL, Richard THERIAULT, Vernon THERIAULT, Jean-Paul BREAU and Ronald McINTYRE.
Following mass members and officers of Royal Canadian Legion held a memorial service under the direction of Gray Godfrey. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Arrangements were in the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Chatham.
