Benoit MANUEL passed away Wednesday, August 03, 2011 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 83. Born in Eel River, NB, the son of the late Benjamin Jr. and Marie [McINTYRE] MANUEL. Benoit was a successful fisherman and in his spare time enjoyed moose hunting, gardening and telling stories about his adventures on the water and in the woods. <br /> He is survived by daughters: Charline MANUEL [Michael], Rachelle CARROLL [Johnny], Melissa SAVOIE [Kevin], Lorna MANUEL [George], Doras MOLLINS [Mike], Petrina HEBERT [Daniel]; sons: Joe MANUEL, Arnold MANUEL, Alexis MANUEL [Diane], Karl MANUEL; sisters: Therese MARTIN, Rejeane MAZEROLLE [Albenie], Florentine SCHOFIELD [Elier], Magela THERIAULT [Reginald]; brothers: Therence MANUEL [Aline] and Adelbert MANUEL [Magela]; sixteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. <br /> Benoit is predeceased by his wife, Ethyl [FRY] MANUEL; one granddaughter; and brother-in-law, Louis MARTIN. <br /> Benoit [Bennie] MANUEL rested at the Baie Ste-Anne Slumberoom in Baie Ste-Anne on Friday, August 05, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday, August 06, 2011 from 9 am until time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, August 06, 2011 at 11 am from St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Baie Ste-Anne. <br /> Active pallbearers were: Daniel HEBERT, Kevin SAVOIE, Michael MOLLINS, George NEALLY, Timothy MANUEL and Jorden MANUEL. <br /> Donations to the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetic Association would be appreciated. <br /> Funeral arrangements are under the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Miramichi, serving the Miramichi and surrounding areas for 100 years.
