Adrien [Tien] MANUEL, 66, of Miramichi, formerly of Baie Ste-Anne, with his family by his side, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Born on May 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Neomise [MERCURE] MANUEL. Adrien was a retired fisherman of 41 years. He was an avid bingo player and Montreal Canadians fan.<br /> He is survived by his wife, Ernestine [DURELLE] MANUEL; three daughters, Ghislaine MARTIN [Magloire], Brenda MANUEL [Roger], of Baie Ste-Anne, and Jeannette MANUEL-ALLAIN [Chris], of Miramichi; four sisters: Rosemay DOUCETTE [Alphonse], Adeline MARTIN [Antoine], Rosaline DURELLE [Aurele], Lucie-Anne McINTYRE [Daniel]; three brothers, Fabian [Lorette], Rosaire [Zita] and Gerard [Michell], all of Baie Ste-Anne; seven grandchildren, aunts, uncles and several nieces and nephews.<br /> Besides his parents, Adrien is predeceased by his sister Edith MARTIN; and granddaughter, Jennifer.<br /> Adrien [Tien] MANUEL rested at the Baie Ste-Anne Slumberoom in Baie Ste-Anne on Sunday May 01, 2011 from 7-9pm and on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Tuesday from 2pm till the time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday May 03, 2011 at 4pm from St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Baie Ste-Anne with Fr. J. B. Mallais officiating. Fr. Robert Savoie was in attendance. <br /> Active pallbearers were: Alphonse DOUCETTE, Antoine MARTIN, Alfred McINTYRE, Daniel McINTYRE, <br /> George WATTON and Ronald DURELLE. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren: Adrien Guy MARTIN, Nadia MARTIN, Jessica BOUDREAU, Vanessa BOUDREAU, Rebecca CYR, Jonah ALLAIN and Hannah ALLAIN. <br /> Donations to the Miramichi Regional Hospital palliative Care Unit, Canadian Cancer Society of the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Mahers Funeral Home Miramichi, NB, serving the Miramichi and surrounding area for 100 years.
