Mrs. Winnifred G. MacLEAN, widow of the late Wesley MacLEAN, of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Black River Bridge, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the age of 83. Born in Woodstock, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dalphene [BOURGEOIS] WESTHAVEN. She was a homemaker.<br /> She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donna HAZELWOOD, of Sunderland, Ont.; Mrs. Lynn WHITTEN [Sheila], of Pontypool, Ont., two step-daughters, Catherine MacLEAN, of Black River Bridge, and Mrs. Norman HAZELWOOD [Francis], of Whitelake, Ont.; one son, Robert A. MacLEAN, of Sussex; one step-son, Myron MacLEAN, of Black River Bridge; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.<br /> She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley; one sister, Mrs. Jean MacDONALD; two brothers, Edgar and Blair WESTHAVER; one step-son, Milton MacLEAN; one grandson, Robert MacLEAN.<br /> The remains rested at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral service was held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m., conducted by James Abbott, assisted by Dennis Comeau. The organist was Vera Lynn Harrison, and the hymns were: I Need Thee Every Hour and It Pays To Serve Jesus.<br /> The pallbearers were: Wesley MacLEAN, James MacLEAN, James MacDONALD, Frederick [Ted] FOWLIE, Carl DICKSON, and Joseph MacDONALD.<br /> Interment was in the Bayside Christian Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home [Chatham].<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - December 10, 1996
