Mr. Wilson George MacLEAN, husband of Dorothy [MacKNIGHT] MacLEAN, of Bartibogue Bridge, passed away Wed., October 3, 2001, at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 76. Born in Russellville, NB, he was the son of the late William and Jessie [WOODS] MacLEAN. He was retired from the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. He attended St. Matthews Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 3, a member of Federal Superannuates Association, a WW II veteran who served overseas with the navy, and served as a peace keeper for four years with the Canadian Airforce in Germany after returning from WW II.<br /> Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Brenda MacLEAN, of Miramichi; four sons: Evan [Elizabeth], of Orleans, ON; Ronald [Sue], of Quebec City; Chester [Janice], of Grand Bay, ON; Darrel, of Blind River, Ontario; and 9grandchildren.<br /> He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Shirley, and one brother, William.<br /> At the request of the family, there was no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 7, from Davidsons Funeral Home Chapel, 597 Old King George Hwy., Miramichi, with Rev. John Crawford officiating. Organist was Lois McKINNON. Members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 3 held a Memorial Service at Davidsons Funeral Home Chapel. Donations to St. Matthews Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated. Burial was in St. Matthews Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements were in care of Davidsons Funeral Home.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - October 16, 2001
