Mr. Anthony Joseph ALLAIN, husband of Alice (SOBEY) ALLAIN, of Newcastle Blvd., Miramichi, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at his late residence, at the age of 77. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Levi and Melvina [ST. COEUR] ALLAIN. He was a retired brick layer and a member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi. He was an organizer of Miramichi Entertainers and demonstrated a real passion for music. He also was a member of Miramichi Cruisers. <br /> <br /> Besides his wife, Alice, he is survived by three daughters, Sheila BOWIE (David), of Maple Glen, NB, Sharon MacKAY (Sandy), of Bedford, NS, and Paula MULLIN (Wayne), of Fort McMurray, AB; five sisters: Mona ALLAIN, of Montreal, PQ, Yvonne ALLAIN, of Miramichi, NB, Barb WARREN (James), of Miramichi, NB, Shirley VIENNEAU, of Fredericton, NB, and Lelia MANDERSON (Car)], of Miramichi, NB; three brothers, Louis ALLAIN, of Miramichi, NB, Jack ALLAIN (Sandra), of Woodstock, NB, and Eric ALLAIN, of Miramichi, NB; five grandchildren: Genna GOUCHIE, Gillian GOUCHIE, Tracy AHERN, Trisha MULLIN and Joshua MULLIN; and one great-grandchild, Ethan AHERN. <br /> <br /> Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Lee ALLAIN; and one sister, Marie BRIDEAU. <br /> <br /> Mr. Anthony Joseph ALLAIN rested at Davidsons Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy., Miramichi with <br /> visitation on Wednesday evening from 7-9 and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 10 am from St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Organist and soloist, Jacqueline ALLAIN, rendered: Shelter Me, O God; Psalm 23; Beautitudes; I Am the Living Bread; Pie Jesu and Be Not Afraid. Soloist, Borden Davidson, rendered: Good Night and Good Morning. Readers were Clarence McKibbon and Shelly Williams. Prayers of the Faithful were led by Shelly Williams. Members of the Miramichi Entertainers formed a guard of honor. Burial will take place in Maple Glen Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the Maple Glen Cemetery would be appreciated. <br /> <br /> Active pallbearers were: David BOWIE, Sandy MacKAY, Wayne MULLIN, Reggie STEWART, Billy AHERN and Glen McCAFFERTY. Honorary pallbearers were: Roger TURCOTTE, George SOBEY, Clarence TAYLOR, Cecil SOBEY, Arnold SOBEY, James WARREN, Carl MANDERSON and Sterling JOHNSTON. <br /> <br /> Arrangements in care of Davidsons Funeral Home (622-7464). <br /> <br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - March 03, 2010
