Yvonne [Eva] Marie MacDONALD, widow of the late Basil O. MacDONALD, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, passed away at her residence, early Saturday morning, February 26, 2011, at the age of 96. Born in Pont Landry on October 19, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Richard Joseph and Clemence [Clothilde DUGUAY] LaROCQUE. She was a dedicated homemaker and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi.<br /> She is survived by four daughters: Jenny McGRATH, of Montreal, Que., Rose SPRAY [Charlie], of Miramichi, Sandra SCHOFIELD [Pat], of Barrie, Ont., Debbie FLEIGER [Billy], of Miramichi; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Patrick LaROCQUE, of St. Omer, Que.; as well as several nieces and nephews. <br /> She was predeceased by her husband, Basil O. MacDONALD; three sisters, Bridgette CHAISSON, Lucinda NOEL, Justina LANTEIGNE; two brothers, Edmond and Aldore LaROCQUE.<br /> Visitation was at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 10 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Music for the service was: Be Not Afraid, May Your Love Be Upon Us, O Lord, Gentle Woman, Ave Maria, On Eagles Wings, Ma Mason. The scriptures were read by Blaise LaROCQUE and Rose SPRAY. Prayers of the Faithful were led by Charlene DIGMAN.<br /> The pallbearers were: Pat SCHOFIELD, Billy FLEIGER, Shane SPRAY, Robbie FLEIGER, Ryan FLEIGER, Jean Marc CHAISSON. <br /> Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring. Donations to the Alzheimer Unit of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home would be appreciated by the family.
