Albert ALLAIN, 74, of 201 Main Street died Tuesday at Sanford Hospital [Maine] following a long illness. He was born in Neguac, New Brunswick, a son of Benjamin and Marie Alice [ROBICHAUD] ALLAIN. He was a veteran of World War II. He lived for many years on Charles Street and for 15 years on James Avenue.<br /> Mr. ALLAIN had owned and operated Allains Market on Brook Street for many years. Later he was employed as a courier of the Journal-Tribune for many years. He was a charter member of the VFW of Sanford and was a past grand knight of the Poirier Council of the Knights of Columbus, Springvale.<br /> <br /> He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James [Barbara] SHIRLEY; three brothers: Alban, Louis and Joseph; a sister, Marie Claire DUPUIS, all of Sanford; and three grandchildren.<br /> <br /> A prayer service will be held at 11 am Thursday at the Sanford Funeral Home, 145 Main Street. Burial will be in the Ignatius Cemetery.<br /> <br /> Source: newspaper clipping
