The death of Eldon Ernest LYONS, of Fredericton, husband of Joan [STAFFORD] LYONS, occurred on July 4, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Doaktown, NB, he was a son of the late Freeman and Christina [ARBEAU] LYONS. Eldon retired from NB Power in 1992 as a Staker-detailer. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15, Marysville.
Besides his wife, Eldon is survived by one daughter, Wendy [Donald] WALKER, of Hampton, NB; two sons: Stephen [Lynn], of Hampton, NB, and Randy [Susan], of Fredericton; seven grandchildren: Julie and Jenna, James and Patrick, Donna, Sonya and Cindy; one sister, Lena PALMER [Bud], of Doaktown; five brothers: Millett [Evelyn], Blair [Jean], Mannie [Barb], all of Fredericton, Marvin [Evelyn], Paul [Wanda], of Doaktown; sister-in-law, Mary LYONS, of Doaktown; several nieces and nephews and little companion, Abbie.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Haley LYONS; and two sisters: Isabel CLEVELAND and Marion LYONS.
Visitation at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 2 pm from the FH Chapel with Rev. David DuBois officiating. Private family burial will be held at a late date.
