Mr. William John KENNY, husband of Laurena [FOURNIER] KENNY, of Newcastle Blvd., Miramichi, NB, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 84. orn in Ste. Rose Gloucester Co., NB, he was the son of the late Bartholomew and Bessie [HILL] KENNY. He was retired from Canada Post and NB Hydro, and was a member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church. e served overseas in North Shore Regiment as a corporal.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters:Mrs. Dorothy MacLEAN, of Miramichi,and Mrs. Catherine LOSIER, of St. Rose.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers:Burt KENNY and Leonard KENNY.
Rested at Davidsons Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday and Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, August 14, at 11 am from St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, with Father Sam Diotte officiating, assisted by Father Tom Fowler. Organist, Mary Butler, led the church choir in: Here I Am Lord, You Are Near, Lord, Make Us Servants of Your Peace, Songs of the Angels, and The Lords My Shepherd. Readings were by Melanie Fournier and Judy Thaler. Intercessions were by Trudy Walsh. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 10 formed an honor guard at the funeral.
Active pallbearers were: Jamie SULLIVAN, Randy FOURNIER, Eric BABINEAU, Bradley MURRAY, Brian MUZERALL, and Tommy BRYENTON.
Burial followed in St. Marys Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. Donations to the NB Kidney Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements were in care of Davidsons Funeral Home [622-7464]
