The death of Mary Alphonsine [Alice] JONES, of 119 Allingham Crescent, wife of C. Ronald JONES, occurred at St. Josephs Hospital on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, following a period of failing health. Mrs. JONES was born in Baie Ste. Anne, a daughter of the late Joseph and Leona [DUPLESSIS] DUPLESSIS, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John. She had been employed with the Princess of Acadia and in the hospitality industry. She had volunteered with the CNIB, and was an avid bowler, dart-player, and bingo-player. <br /> She was pre-deceased by three sisters: Amanda LOVETT, Tina DUPLESSIS, and Lidia GILETTE; and a grandson, Philip DUPLESSIS. <br /> Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons: Anthony, of Toronto, Brian [Annie], of Saint John, Martyn, of Toronto, and Leonard, of Ohio; two brothers: Doris and David [Gerry], both of Saint John; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one aunt; one uncle; and several nieces and nephews. <br /> Resting at Fitzpatricks Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday morning at nine oclock.
