John E. JIMMO, of Escuminac, died Sunday, June 27, 1982 at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Chatham. Born in Escuminac 64 years ago, he was a son of the late Walter and Ida [PRESTON] JIMMO. He worked with General Motors in Ontario for more than 20 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the North Shore N.B. Regiment, and was a member of Chatham Branch 3 Royal Canadian Legion.<br /> He is survived by his wife, the former Yvonne DAIGLE; three sons: William, of Lindsay, Ont., John, of California, and Bryce, of Toronto; seven daughters: Mrs. Owen FITZGERALD [Elaine], of Portland, Ont., Mrs. Edgar WERRY [Clare], of Selina, Ont., Mrs. Gary KENNEDY [Karen], of Burnaby, B.C., Mrs. Noreen JIMMO, of Toronto, Mrs. William SHEA [Betty Ann], of Janetville, Ont., Miss Kim and Miss Jennifer JIMMO, both of Escuminac; three sisters: Mrs. Vince GUYADER [Theresa], of Chatham, Miss Anna JIMMO, of Whitby, Ont., and Mrs. Helen GILLISS, of Sudbury, Ont.; three brothers: Preston, of Ferry Road, Blair and Perley, both of Whitby, Ont.<br /> The body rested at Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church from where the funeral was held on Wednesday, June 30. Mass was celebrated by Rev. D. Gauthier assisted by Rev. Robert Grattan, Rev, J. V. Smith, Rev. R. King and Father Connell.<br /> Honorary pallbearers were: Clay JIMMO, Alvin SAVOIUE, Paul SAVOIE, Philias GUIMOND, Tom LEWIS, Tom ONEIL and Donnie ROSS. Active pallbearers were: Phil KUTNER, Bill SHEA, Owen FITZGERALD, Julo MARTIN, Julian MARTIN and Jean JIMMO.<br /> Interment was in the church cemetery where a Legion service was conducted by Charles Savoy of Branch No. 3 Royal Canadian Legion, Chatham.<br /> Source: Northumberland News - July 7, 1982
