Mrs. Ada Marie IRVING, widow of the late Jotham Blanchard IRVING, of Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, formerly of Millbank, passed away Wednesday evening, March 18, 2009 at the Home, at the age of 83. Born in Douglastown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jean Sarah [DICK] JOHNSTONE. She was a retired telephone operator for C.F.B., Chatham. She was a member of Bethel United Church and the UCW.
She is survived by one daughter; Mrs. Joanne KELLY [Tony], of Beckley, West Virginia; one son, Andrew IRVING, of Miramichi; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis GILLIS [Fred], of Millbank, Mrs. Margaret CLARK [David], of Miramichi; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley JESSIMAN and Jean ODONNELL; four brothers, Charles, Fred, Gilbert and Irvine.
Mrs. Ada Marie IRVING rested at Davidsons Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation Thursday evening from 7 to 9. Funeral Service was held Friday, March 20, 2009, at 2 pm, from the FH Chapel, with Rev. J.D. Kennedy officiating. Organist Shirley Estey led the congregation in; In the Garden, Rock of Ages and Just As I Am. Special memories were shared by her son, Andrew, and her son-in-law, Tony. Burial will be in Moorefield Cemetery in the spring. Donations to Miramichi Senior Citizens Home would be appreciated.
Active pallbearers were: Alvin CLARK, Brent JOHNSTON, Fred FERGUSON, Eric GILLIS, Russell VYE, Billy McFARLANE and Kim SHARPE.
