Aaron HOVEY, of Ludlow, died June 16, 1991 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, after a lengthy illness. He was 79. Born in Ludlow, he was a retired lumberman. He attended St. James Anglican Church, was a member of the Boiestown Board of Trade, and a founding member of the Central NB Woodsmens Museum. He was a Second World War veteran having served with the 27th Canadian Armoured Regiment. He also was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion 78, Normandy Branch.<br /> He is survived by his wife, Laura E. [POND] HOVEY; one sister, Lillian R. HOVEY, of Fredericton; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.<br /> He was predeceased by his parents, Weldon and Maggie [POND] HOVEY.<br /> The body rested at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon. The funeral service was held June 18, 1991. Father Kevin Borthwick officiated. <br /> Pallbearers were: Roy CLOWATER, Orville POND, Jonathon HUNTER, David CARSON, Reg MURPHY and Blair HUNTER. <br /> Interment was in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Ludlow.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - July 10, 1991
