Mr. Wilson Stillman BAMFORD, husband of L. Marie [COLFORD] BAMFORD, of Doaktown, NB, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, at the age of 85. Born in Blissfield, NB, he was the son of the late Wilson S. and Edith Cavell [WITHERELL] BAMFORD. He was retired from the Department of Transportation. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 23, Doaktown, and a member of St. Thomas United Church, Doaktown. He was a veteran of WW II, serving overseas in the British Columbia Regiment. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Besides his wife, Marie, he is survived by one daughter, Barbara [Richard BARNETT], of Moncton; two sons: John [Linda] BAMFORD, of Fredericton, Jeffrey [Karen] BAMFORD, of Woodstock; and eight grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Barbara CHATFIELD and Eliza JORDAN; and one brother, Arlington BAMFORD.
Rested at Davidsons Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service was held Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at 2 pm from St. Thomas United Church, Doaktown, with Rev. Beverly Daley officiating. Organist was Monty Carr. Hymns were: Softly and Tenderly and The Lords My Shepherd. Soloist, Borden B. Davidson, rendered: How Great Thou Art. Reading by Myles RUSSELL.
Active pallbearers were: Winston GILKS, Jerry BAMFORD, Shirley ASTLES, Ken St. GERMAIN, Ricky COLFORD, and Jim WITHERELL.
Burial followed in St. Georges United Cemetery, Blissfield, NB. Arrangements were in care of Davidsons Funeral Home [365-7022] or [622-7464]
