DEATH NOT CONNECTED TO CRASH
Slight injuries resulted Saturday as a Maple Glen family taking a sick baby to hospital was involved in a two-vehicle accident. A half-ton truck carrying Gregory BAISLEY, his wife Kim, and mother-in-law, Willa JARDINE, all of Maple Glen, were involved in an accident with a half-ton truck driven by Gerald MORRIS, of Pleasant St. in Newcastle.
Sergeant Bob Murphy of the Newcastle RCMP said the Baisleys were taking their five-month-old son, Adam, to the hospital when the accident occurred. Adam BAISLEY was suffering from congenital heart disease. Murphy said the child died during the night and not as a result of the accident on the Chaplin Island Road.
Willa JARDINE suffered an injured knee and Kim BAISLEY cuts to the face as a result of the accident. Damages to the two vehicles totaled $6,000.
Murphy said slippery roads were a contributing factor in the accident.
