Raymond GIBBS, of Baie Ste. Anne, died Thursday, April 7, 1983 at the Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Baie Ste. Anne 77 years ago, he was a son of the late Valentine and Mary [MANUEL] GIBBS. He was a fisherman.<br /> He is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Leocade DAIGLE, Mrs. Albert MANUEL [Leola], Mrs. Rudolphe THERIAULT [Exina] and Miss Raymonde GIBBS, all of Baie Ste. Anne; two sons: Ralph, of Baie Ste. Anne, and Valmont, of Nelson-Miramichi; three sisters: Mrs. Elmire THERIAULT, Mrs. Mabel DESPRES and Miss Jessie GIBBS, all of Baie Ste. Anne.<br /> He was predeceased by his wife, the former Linda MARTIN, who died about four years ago.<br /> The body rested at Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church where funeral mass was celebrated Sunday afternoon, April 10 by Rev. Maurice Fortier.<br /> Honorary pallbearers were: Albert MANUELL, Rudolphe THERIAULT, Augustine MARTIN, Ronald DOUCET, Robert DESPRES, Wilfred MARTIN, Walter GIBBS and Emile MARTIN. Active pallbearers were: Kenneth GIBBS, Blair MANUEL, Hilarian MANUEL, Denis THERIAULT, Kevin GIBBS and Brian GIBBS.<br /> Entombment will be in the church vault to await burial in the church cemetery later in the spring. Arrangements were in the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Chatham.<br /> Source: Northumberland News - April 20, 1983
