Lionel GIBBS died suddenly at his residence in Baie-Sainte-Anne at the age of 65. Lionel was the son of late Imelda SCHOFIELD and Wright GIBBS. Lionel was employed in Sept-Îles, Quebec by Crane and Raymond Industries. Later on, he left for James-Bay, where he worked as a millwright. During his retirement, he decided to venture into the business of lobster fishing. <br /> He leaves to mourn his long-time friend, Claudette SAVOIE-DAIGLE; his brothers: Fernand [Francoise], Willie [Doreen]; and his sisters: Phyllis [Arsene], Dorita [Bill], Astrid [Ken], Mildred [Paul], and Julienne [Phil]. <br /> He was predeceased by his brother, Walter; and his sister, Lorraine. <br /> Mr. Lionel GIBBS rested at the Baie Ste. Anne Slumberoom Monday March 30th and on Tuesday March 31st from 2pm till time of the funeral. Funeral service was held on Tuesday March 31st at 4pm from St. Anne Church in Baie Ste. Anne with Fr. Robert Savoie Celebrant and Fr. Fidele LeBlanc Con-Celebrant. <br /> Honorary Pallbearers were: Jeanne dArc DOUCET, Simonne MAZEROLLE, Gisele KERR, Paul TURBIDE, Oswald SAVOIE, Paul THEBEAULT, Kenneth GIBBS, Camille TURBIDE, Antonio McINTYRE, Roland THERIAULT, Louis SCHOFIELD, Jacques SAVOIE and Henri GIBBS. <br /> Funeral arrangements are under the care of Mahers Funeral Home Miramichi, NB Telephone 773-4321. <br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - April 03, 2009 [DOD fr. death announcements @ www.mightymiramichi.com]
