Yerxa FORAN, Sr., of Newcastle, was found dead late Friday afternoon at his home at 275 Williston Ave, Newcastle. RCMP report results of an autopsy performed Saturday in Saint John confirms that Mr. FORAN died of a single gun shot wound in the chest. According to RCMP no motive has been found and no arrests made. <br /> Mr. FORAN, age 59, is believed to have died sometime between 1and 5 pm at which time his body was discovered. He was well known as a taxi driver. <br /> Born at Lyttleton, he was a son of the late George and Dora [SOMERS] FORAN. He was a member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle. He was also a WW II veteran and member of the Royal Canadian Legion. <br /> He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia CHAMBERLAIN; four daughters and two sons; four sisters and four brothers. <br /> Source: Northumberland News - March 3, 1982 [DOD provided by Dianne Mullin]
