Mrs. Merita M. DURELLE, 56, of 7 Ivan Court, Moncton, NB, passed away on Sat., Oct. 11, 2003, at Moncton City Hospital. Born in Baie Ste-Anne, she was the daughter of the late Placide and Melinda [ROBICHAUD] DURELLE. She was a housekeeper.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas RYAN; son, Michael RYAN; daughter, Shelly RIZK [Zaid], of Kingston, ON; grandson, Ryan RIZK, of Kingston, ON; sisters, Beatrice [Wayne] SAVOIE, Anne Marie [Oswald] SAVOIE, of Baie Ste-Anne; Rejeanne [David] GULLIVER, of Gardner Point, NB; Roseline MARTIN, of St. Catharines, ON; brothers, Renee [Peggy] DURELLE, Fernand [Connie] DURELLE, of Hardwicke; Rosaire [Evelyn] DURELLE, of Gardner Point, NB; Jean Paul [Lisette] DURELLE, of Baie Ste-Anne; Denis [Sanga] DURELLE, of St. Catharines, ON; Perry [Debbie] DURELLE, of Escuminac; 10 nephews and 18 nieces.
The remains rested at the church slumberoom, Mon., and Tues. from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, Baie Ste-Anne, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m., with Fr. Normand Drisdelle officiating.
Active pallbearers were: Perry DURELLE, Jean Paul DURELLE, Fernand DURELLE, Renee DURELLE, David GULLIVER, and Patrice MARTIN. Honorary pallbearers were: Agnes LAWLOR, Dorothy JONES, Linda BOURQUE, Jeanne MARTIN, Shirley TURBIDE, and Audrey MANUEL.
Interment in the church cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Mahers Funeral Home, 773-4321.
