Joseph P. DURELLE, of Baie Ste. Anne, died in Hotel Dieu here Wednesday. Father of Joey DURELLE, Canadian welterweight boxing champion, and uncle of former Canadian heavyweight boxing champion, Yvon DURELLE, he was born in Baie Ste. Anne, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Placide DURELLE and was 76 years of age.
He is survived by seven sons: Maurice, Israel and Vincent, all of Baie Ste. Anne, Fabian, Andrew and Arthur, all of Montreal, and Joey, of Three Rivers, Que.; two daughters, Mrs. Omer ARSENAULT, of Baie Ste. Anne, and Miss Evelyn DURELLE, of Montreal; two sisters, Mrs. Henry DESPRES and Mrs. Vierus PELLERIN, both of Baie Ste. Anne; and one brother, Ernest of Baie Ste. Anne.
The funeral was held from his late home on Friday morning to the Roman Catholic Church there, where requiem mass was celebrated at 9 oclock. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

FUNERAL -
The funeral of Joseph P. DURELLE, of Baie Ste. Anne, was held to the Roman Catholic Church there, with requiem mass celebrated by Rev. Oswald Porelle.
The pallbearers were: Yvon DURELLE, John McINTYRE. Arcide DESPRES, Herman DURELLE, Louis THERIAULT and Reggie MUISE.
Interment made in the church cemetery.
