Walter Edward ADAMS, husband of Ida ADAMS, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Upper Black River, passed away at his residence, on Friday evening, July 4, 2008, at the age of 82. Born in Black River Bridge on August 19, 1925, he was the son of the late George and Minnie (LaBELLE) ADAMS. He was a retired employee of the Dept. of National Defense, working in the C.E. Section of the former CFB St. Margarets Radar Base. He was an adherent of St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge. <br /> <br /> He is survived by his wife, the former Ida M. SIPPLEY; two daughters, Lola MAAHS, of Sioux St. Marie, Ont., and Marina CARROLL, of Black River Bridge; five sons, Burns ADAMS, of Black River Bridge, Percy ADAMS (Theresa), of Black River Bridge, Carl ADAMS (Judy), of Miramichi, Jerry ADAMS (Karen), of Saint John, and Freddy ADAMS (Donna), of Miramichi; one daughter-in-law, Theresa ADAMS, of Miramichi; one sister, Alice WILLISTON, of Miramichi; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. <br /> <br /> He was predeceased by one son, Edward ADAMS; one granddaughter, Kathleen ADAMS ARSENAULT; three sisters, Rena HAMILTON, Annie ADAMS and Eunice BELDING; two brothers, Curtis and Gordon ADAMS. <br /> <br /> Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home on Sunday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the FH Chapel, on Monday, July 7, 2008, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Derek Krunys. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery.
