Mr. Steven DUFFY, of White Rapids, passed away at his residence, on Saturday, January 02, 2010, at the age of 47. Steven was the son of the late Vincent and Bernice [TUCKER] DUFFY and worked as a labourer. He was a member of St. Bridgets Roman Catholic Church, in Renous. <br /> He is survived by five sisters: Carmel [Ernest ANDERSON], of Fredericton, Sharon [James HALLIHAN], of Renous, Norma [Freddy BURNS], of Bartholomew, Daphne, of Cape Breton, NS, and Nancy [Paul JARDINE], of Barnettville; five brothers: Raymond [Theresa], of Renous, Shirley [Catherine], Wayne [Connie], Lindon [Shirley] and Patrick, all of White Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. <br /> Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his niece, Barbie DUFFY. <br /> The family received relatives and friends at the Father Murdock Memorial Room, in Renous, on Tuesday, January 05, 2010 from 7 to 9, and on Wednesday, January 06, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, January 07, 2010, at 11 am from St. Bridgets Roman Catholic Church in Renous with Msgr. Joseph Woods officiating. Organist Jacqueline Allain led the congregation in the hymns: Be Not Afraid, For I Shall See You Again, Present Among Us, Songs of the Angels and Take me Home. Readers were Marlene Nash and Dawn Hannah. <br /> Pallbearers were: Kevin BURNS, Freddy BURNS Jr., Jonathan DUFFY, Bradley DUFFY, John DUFFY and Brent DUFFY.<br /> Interment will take place in the church cemetery later in the spring. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant St., telephone 622-7741.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - January 15, 2010
