Francis DOUCET, 93, of Baie Sainte-Anne, died Saturday at his residence, Villa Saint-Joseph, in Tracadie surrounded by his children. Born in Baie Sainte-Anne, he was the son of the late Maxime and Margaret [JENKINS] DOUCET.
He is survived by seven sons: Rudolphe [Jeanne dArc], Alvin [Lucina], Marc [Rosemonde], Frank [Andrea], Melvin [Mona], Kenneth [Donna], and Stephen [Brigitte], all of Baie Sainte-Anne; six daughters: Nelida [Maurice POIRIER], Alvina [Walter WAFER], Jeanne dArc, all of Montreal, Gladys, of Newfoundland, Pierrette [Raymond ONEIL], of Escuminac, and Marie [Blaine], of Moncton; two sisters: Florence, of Moncton, and Helen, of Chatham; 26 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alfreda; a daughter, Barbara; two sisters: Almeda, Jennie; and five brothers: Hyacinthe, Jack, Everett, Lawson, and Delsworth.
Visitation at the Baie Sainte-Anne Slumberoom on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, February 7, 2005 at 11 am from Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Baie Sainte-Anne with Fr. Robert Savoie officiating. Interment in church cemetery in the spring.
Active pallbearers were: Marc DOUCET, Guy DOUCET, Ryan DOUCET, Randy DOUCET, Louis-Phillipe DOUCET and Glen DOUCET. Honorary pallbearers were: Darrell DOUCET, Alvin McINTYRE, Anthime MANUEL, David WILLISTON, Ade SAVOIE, Ronnie DOUCET, Alphonse DOUCET and Claude SAVOIE.
Arrangements were under the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Miramichi, NB. Telephone 773-4321.
