Ronald DESPRES, of Baie Ste. Anne and Toronto, died Wednesday night, January 11, 1984 at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Chatham after a lengthy illness. Born in Baie Ste. Anne 37 years ago, he was a son of Mabel [GIBBS] and the late Hubert DESPRES. He had been a resident of Toronto for 18 years before returning to the community.<br /> Besides his mother, he is survived by five brothers: Arnold, of Moncton, Edgar, of Montreal, Charles, of Richibucto, Robert, of Baie Ste. Anne, and Paul DESPRES, of Neguac; two sisters, Mrs. Albain DOUCETTE [Collette] and Mrs. Mathurin MAZEROLLE [Huberte], both of Baie Ste. Anne. <br /> The body rested at the Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church where the funeral mass was celebrated Saturday afternoon, January 14 by Rev. Alphonse Richard.<br /> Honorary pallbearers were: Luc MARTIN, Gerald CHIASSON, Victor DURELLE, Antonio TURBIDE, Frank DOUCET and Andre MARTIN. Active pallbearers were: Roger THERIAULT, Paul THERIAULT, Hubert MAZEROLLE, Allain DOUCETTE, Francois DESPRES and Ralph GIBBS.<br /> The body was placed in the receiving vault. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Arrangements were in the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Chatham.<br /> Source: Northumberland News - January 18, 1984
