Arcade DESPRES, 75, of Baie Ste. Anne, passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 1996 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Chatham. Born in Baie Ste. Anne, he was the son of the late Henri and Osith Anne (DURELLE) DESPRES. He was a fisherman, and he attended the Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorina DAIGLE; four sons: Aquila, Adrien, of Baie Ste. Anne, Ronald, of Chatham, Roger, of Douglastown; two daughters, Aline, of Rimouski, P.Q., and Monique, of Baie Ste. Anne; three brothers: Israel and Alonzo, of Baie Ste. Anne, Joey, of Bathurst; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph MANUEL (Amida), of Baie Ste. Anne, Mrs. Lionel ROBICHAUD (Rea), of Saint John, N.B.; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons, Arcade Jr., and Andre.
The remains rested in the church slumber room. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church Jan. 30 at 4 p.m. with Rev. Robert Savoie officiating.
Active pallbearers were: Patrick DESPRES, Gille DAIGLE, Gerard MOUSE, Francis, Henry, and Paul DESPRES. Honorary pallbearers were: Gille THEBEAULT, Kervin MAZEROLLE, Charley WILLISTON, Marc MAZEROLLE, Brian DURELLE, and Arthur MANUEL.
Interment is in the church cemetery to await burial in the spring. Arrangements were under the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Chatham.
