Mrs. Mary E. ADAMS, wife of George J. ADAMS, of Black River Bridge, died Wednesday, June 12, 1985 at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Chatham following a lengthy illness. Born in Prince Edward Island 88 years ago, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (CLEMENTS) LaBELLE. She was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge.<br /> <br /> Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Frank BELDING (Eunice) and Mrs. Jack HAMILTON (Rena), both of Black River Bridge, Mrs. Donald ERSKINE (Gertrude), of Upper Musquodoboit, NS, Miss Annie ADAMS, at home, and Mrs. Alice McEATHRON, of Fredericton: three sons, Gordon and Walter, of Black River Bridge, and Curtis, of Chatham Head: one brother, George LaBELLE, of Neguac: 81 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.<br /> <br /> The body rested at Adams Funeral Home, Chatham. Funeral service was held Friday, June 14 from St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge with Rev. Cal MacInnis officiating. The organist was Mrs. Grace Williston and the hymns were: The Old Rugged Cross and Safe in the Arms of Jesus. <br /> <br /> The pallbearers were: Lawrence ADAMS, Grant McEATHRON, Melvin ADAMS, Arthur ADAMS, Burns ADAMS and Donald ERSKINE.<br /> <br /> Burial was in the Black River Cemetery.<br /> <br /> Source: Northumberland News - June 19, 1985
