Mrs. Edna M. AHERN, age 73, of Nowlanville, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1994 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Collette, she was the daughter of the late Theodore GALLANT and Clara (LANDRY) GALLANT.<br /> <br /> She is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Paul RICHARD (Clara) of Perkins, Que., Mrs. Donald NOWLAN (Nancy) of Chatham, NB, Mrs. Robert McLAREN (Irene) of Ottawa, ON, Mrs. David LYNCH (Edna) of Nowlanville and Mrs. Terrance REGAN (Linda) of Nowlanville; six sons: Leonard of Ottawa, ON, Brian of Nowlanville, Warren of Millerton, Ronald of Chelmsford, Johnny of Burnaby, BC and Michael, of Newcastle; 11 sisters: Mrs. Rosalie GOGUEN of Rogersville, Mrs. Guillaume GAUDET (Alice) of Collette, Mrs. Fidele CHEVARIE (Yvonne) of Young’s Ridge, Mrs. William STEWART (Clara) of Saint John, Miss Jane GALLANT of Rogersville, Mrs. Josephine ARSENAULT of St. Anne de Kent, Mrs. Jean Guy SAVOIE (Ella) of Neguac, Mrs. Archie FLYNN (Celie) of Dorchester, Mrs. Melford SONIER (Helena) of Chatham Head, Mrs. Gilbert LAROCQUE (Lilienne) of Chatham Head, and Mrs. Robert BABIB (Theresa) of Saint John; five brothers: Marcel of West Collette, Wilford of Collette, Leo of Young’s Ridge, Paul of Beaverbrook and Louie, of Toronto; 27 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.<br /> <br /> She was predeceased by her husband, John Robert AHERN; one son, John; one sister, Mary; two brothers, Edward and Donald.<br /> <br /> Remains rested at Maher’s Funeral Home. Funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 15th at 11 am at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Nelson-Miramichi with Fr. Dan Melanson officiating, assisted by Rev. Bob Grattan.<br /> <br /> Pallbearers were: Patrick GALLANT, Michael GALLANT, Donald GALLANT, Gilles GALLANT, Alfred GALLANT, and Raymond CHEVARIE. Honorary pallbearers were: Melvin LYNCH, John McDONNELL, Raymond BARRIEAU, Bernie FLETCHER, John LYNCH and Raymond LYNCH.<br /> <br /> Interment was in the church cemetery.<br /> <br /> Source: Local Newspaper Clippings
