William ALDCROFT a respected resident of Derby passed away on Friday, March 1st, aged 74 years.
Deceased was born in Halterengham, England. He served ten years in the British Army, being four years at Malta. He was sent to Fredericton with his regiment at the time of the Fenian Raid.
Deceased was twice married, his first wife being Miss Tilley CAINE of Upper Derby of who two children survive, Lemuel of Charleston, Me., and Bruce of Bangor, Me. His second wife who was Miss Lizzie McLEAN, of Ellenstown survives him. He is also survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Frank C. HAMILTON of Searsport, Maine.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, under the direction of Col. R. L. Maltby, and was largely attended. Rev. H. H. Harrison officiated and interment was in the Methodist church cemetery.
The pall-bearers were Messrs: Malcolm AMOS, George BARRON, Samuel LEE, Albert BRYENTON, William CRAWFORD and Robert ROBERTSON.
