We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beautiful Adelyn Janessa ROBICHAUD, daughter of Eric ROBICHAUD and Melodee ANDERSON, of Loggieville, NB. Surrounded by family, she passed away at the age of 9 on May 16, 2024, at the IWK Health Centre due to a tragic accident. Adelyn was born on March 28, 2015, and brought joy into the lives around her. Her bright brown eyes and love of animals were her trademarks. Quiet and reserved, Adelyn was often found whispering or giggling with friends. Adelyn loved colouring and drawing with her sister Rhea, as well as exploring fashion by doing her nails and playing with her Mom’s makeup. She had a passion for basketball, gymnastics, and swimming. She loved outdoor adventures with her Dad including fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, skidooing back to the camp and sliding at the Old Mill with her cousins. Her loved ones will cherish the hours playing Uno, jumping on trampolines and eating white noodles with or without Alfredo sauce.
Adelyn will forever be remembered by her parents, Eric and Melodee; and by the most amazing little sister, Rhea whom she always looked out for; grandmothers, Diane ROBICHAUD and Sheree ANDERSON; great-grandmother, Edith DUGUAY; aunts and uncles: Tony and Maggie ROBICHAUD, Monique and Josh SUTHERLAND and Denise and Mark DRIEDGER; cousins, Annie, Sam, Eve and Maria ROBICHAUD, Ella and William SUTHERLAND, Mattias and Rose DRIEDGER; as well as extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by grandfathers: Frankie ROBICHAUD and Tony COLLETTE; and uncle and aunt: Buddy and Janessa.
Adelyn's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the first responders and healthcare professionals in Miramichi, NB, and the IWK in Halifax, NS, who went above and beyond in providing care for Adelyn.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael's Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 11 am, with The Reverend Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrant. Music Ministry for the service was provided by Mike Davis. The Eulogy was presented by Maggie ROBICHAUD. The First Scripture Reading was by Amy ANDERSON. The Second Scripture Reading was by Tony ROBICHAUD. Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Tony ROBICHAUD. A time for family and fellowship was hosted at the Loggieville Community Center following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation (wwwmrhfoundation.ca), the IWK Health Centre (www.iwkhealth.ca/donate), or the Miramichi SPCA (www.spcamiramichi.com/donate/), and would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB; telephone (506) 773-3492. www.adamsfh.ca
