The death of Lionel DAIGLE, 51, occurred at his home in Hardwicke Saturday following a few days of illness. Born in Hardwicke, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund DAIGLE. He was a fisherman and a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the 28th Field Battery.
Surviving are his wife, the former Janet JENKINS; his parents; four brothers: Armand, of Loggieville, Arthur, of Whitby, Ont., Omer and Thomas, both of Montreal; five sisters: Mrs. Alvin SAVOY, of Manuels Post Office, Mrs. John JIMMO, of Whitby, Ont., Mrs. Roger DUPUIS, of Joliette, Que., Mrs. William CORTES, of Millerton, and Mrs. William DALEY, of South Nelson.
A military funeral under the auspices of the Chatham Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion was held Tuesday at St. Bridgets Roman Catholic Church in Hardwicke, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
