The death of Gonzague Louis SAVOIE, of Bartibog Bridge, NB, and formerly of Baie Ste. Anne, NB, occurred on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Miramichi Hospital at the age of 88. Born in Baie Ste. Anne, NB, he was the son of the late Nazaire and Elizabeth (GAUVIN) SAVOIE. Gonzague worked at Heath Steel Mines for over 30 years. He was also a survivor of the Escuminac Disaster.<br /> <br /> Gonzague is survived by daughter, Michelle ROY; sons, Brent and David (Catherine); daughter-in-law, Michelle SAVOIE; siblings: Sylvia, Reginald, Denis, Eustache “Baba” and Gabriel; grandchildren: Chelsey, Trevor, Cassidy, Morgan, Molly, Taylor, Logan, Peter, Beth, Mike and Alex; special niece: Denise; as well as several other nieces and nephews.<br /> <br /> Besides his parents, Gonzague is predeceased by sons, Greg and Mark; sisters, Jeanette, Bernadette and Claudine; and brothers: George, Nazaire “Sune” and Amiee. <br /> <br /> The family will receive visitors at the Salon Soeur Blandine-Martin in Baie-Sainte-Anne (Church basement) on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 2 pm, until the time of the funeral at 4 pm. Burial will take place in Ste. Anne’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Baie Ste. Anne, NB later in the spring. <br /> <br /> Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s.
