The death of Winona “Winnie” Gertrude McKIBBON, wife of the late Marshall “Jr.” McKIBBON of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Miramichi Hospital at the age of 85. Born in Sevogle, NB, she was the daughter of the late Weldon and Olive (URQUHART) NORTON. Winnie worked at Sears in Newcastle for many years before retiring and she enjoyed knitting and quilting.<br /> <br /> Winnie is survived by son-in-law, Mark KERNIGHAN of Saint John, NB; sister, Susan CURTIS (late John) of Miramichi, NB; uncle, Doug NORTON (Joan) of Sunny Corner, NB; aunt, Phyllis NORTON (late Hubert); as well as several nieces and nephews.<br /> <br /> Besides her parents, and husband, Winnie is predeceased by daughter, Trudy KERNIGHAN.<br /> <br /> At Winnie’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private burial will take place in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery.<br /> <br /> In Winnie’s memory, donations may be made to the St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Cemetery, SPCA or a memorial of one’s choice.
