Aage MALMBERG of Newcastle passed away on Sunday, December 21st at Miramichi Hospital. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark 77 years ago, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nils MALMBERG. He was a veteran of the First World War and honorary life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 10.<br /> <br /> He is survived by his wife, the former Lucy MAJOR; one sister, Mrs. Anna HENRIKSEN of Copenhagen; two brothers, Peter and Marius, both of Copenhagen; two sons, Arthur of Windsor, ON and Harvey of Fredericton; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.<br /> <br /> A son, Godfrey, was killed during the Second World War.<br /> <br /> The body rested t Bell’s Funeral Home where the funeral was held Tuesday, December 23rd at 1:30 pm, with service conducted by Rev. E. Bottomley. The organist, Miss Gloria McKay, accompanied the singing of the hymns: The Old Rugged Cross and How Great Thou Art.<br /> <br /> Honorary pallbearers were: Wilson TREADWELL, Max FORREST, Hubert HANSEN, Clarence GOUGH, Holder BJURSTROM, Frank LYONS, Bert WELDON, Kingston DUTCHER, Charles DUNN and Miller SOMERS. Active pallbearers were: Herbert GRAHAM, Roger FARRER, Gordon LINKLETTER, Reginald McGRATH, Richard HOWE and Leo THIBODEAU.<br /> <br /> Entombment was in the Miramichi Cemetery vault for later burial.<br /> <br /> Source: Scrapbook of Avadne Connolly
