CARAQUET, GLOUCESTER COUNTY, MAY 19th - A. D. FARRAH commission merchant and jobber of Newcastle, died of a paralytic stroke today at the Hotel Doiron, Middle Caraquet.<br /> <br /> For years he operated a large wholesale dry goods, provision and grocery business in Newcastle under the name of A. D. Farrah & Co. Ltd. and had several travelling salesmen representing his company in the Maritimes, Quebec and Magdalene Islands. Mr. FARRAH had been in Caraquet for several days, working this coast, accompanied by his chauffeur, when at about 6:30 pm yesterday he suffered a paralytic stroke and never regained consciousness.<br /> <br /> He is survived by his wife, one brother, Charles FARRAH of Chatham and one daughter, Mrs. K. TRABOULSEE of Newcastle.<br /> <br /> Mr. FARRAH came to Canada from Laban, Syria more than 50 years ago with two brothers, Charles and George. George died several years ago.<br /> <br /> The largely attended funeral was held Sunday afternoon to St. Mary’s Church where service was conducted by Very Rev. J. J. McLaughlin. <br /> <br /> The pallbearers were: Edward DALTON, Joseph LIFSCHES, James STABLES, Thomas GEORGE of Fredericton, Michael MITCHELL of Saint John and Joseph MOGORABY of Truro, NS. <br /> <br /> Interment was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.<br /> <br /> Source: Commercial & World - May 26, 1938 (DOD & age fr.
