A sad drowning accident is reported from Eel River, on Friday morning, April 11th, when Diotte MARTIN, the thirteen year old son of David MARTIN was drowned near his father’s shore. He was playing about on the ice which was poor in that locality when he fell in. When taken from the water life was extinct.<br /> <br /> He is survived by his sorrowing parents, and a large family of brothers and sisters to whom sincere sympathy is extended. <br /> <br /> Interment took place at Baie Ste. Anne on Sunday. This is the second drowning accident reported from the Eel River district since the ice formed last autumn.<br /> <br /> Source: North Shore Leader - April 18, 1930<br />
