A veteran journalist, Charles D’AMOUR, who launched New Brunswick’s newest daily newspaper, Le Matin, died recently of cancer. He was 61.
A native of Baie Ste. Anne, he was the father of five and was active in the Boy Scout movement in Quebec. He held many positions in various trade organizations, including treasurer and president of the Quebec Dailies Association. He was also president of the Atlantic Provinces Graphic Arts Association and a member of the National Council. He was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1982 for his work in scouting.
Funeral and burial was in Dieppe.
