The death of Etienne ALLAIN of Neguac, occurred on Thursday, June 21st, near Buctouche, when he came in contact with high power tension lines and was electrocuted. Mr. ALLAIN, an employee of Delta Electric, for several years was servicing a hydro pole for the New Brunswick Electric Power Commission at the time of the mishap. Born in Neguac, 30 years ago, he was a son of Mrs. Alice (ROBICHAUD) ALLAIN and the late Arthur ALLAIN. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for three years and was a member of the Neguac Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Surviving besides his mother, are his wife, the former Wanda MacKNIGHT of New Jersey; a daughter, Pamela at home; three sisters, (Agathe) Mrs. Roger DUGAS of Bathurst, (Catherine) Mrs. Edgar SAVOIE of Moncton and (Jeanne) Mrs. Wilfred ROBICHAUD of Newcastle; four brothers: Otto, John, Edmond and Mark, all of Neguac.
The funeral, under Legion auspices, was held on Sunday, June 24th, at St. Bernard’s Church, Neguac, with Requiem High Mass celebrated by Rev. E. J. Connors of Bartibogue Bridge.
Pallbearers were: Leo ALLAIN, Egbert ALLAIN, George ALLAIN, Lawrence MURRAY, Len PALMER and Neil MURRAY.
Burial was in the church cemetery. All the members of the deceased’s family attended the funeral and among others present were representatives and fellow-workers of Delta Electric from across the province.
