Regimental No. 57912, age 42 of St Albert, AB, and formerly of Bridgewater passed away on January 21, 2015 in Edmonton, AB from injuries sustained on January 17, 2015 during the course of his general policing duties. Born in Newcastle, NB on October 18, 1972, he was the only son of the late Arlie and Catherine (HIRTLE) WYNN. Dave graduated from Miramichi Valley High in 1990 and attended Acadia University briefly before pursuing a career as a First Aid Instructor and later as a Paramedic with EHS, based in Bridgewater from 1996 to 2009. He graduated from RCMP Depot in Regina, SK, Troop 47 in July 2009 and began his first posting in August 2009 in St Albert. Dave was a multi talented man who lives life with enthusiasm and passion and with a strong desire to serve others and make his community a better place. He was a kind, patient and loving husband, father, son, brother, co-worker and friend, with a wonderful sense of humour. Some of Dave’s many interests and accomplishments included camping and fly fishing with his boys, model trains, swimming, life guarding, scuba diving, Scouting and woodworking. Dave lived for his boys and actively made their pursuits his. He was involved with Matt’s hockey, Nate’s Mountain biking and Alex’s soccer. Dave was a much loved resource officer at Keenooshayo Elementary School, St Albert, where he ran the DARE program. His love of tea and talk will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father, Arlie; grandparents, Hugh and Millie HIRTLE and Fred and Elsie WYNN.
Survived by his wife, Shelly MacINNIS-WYNN and sons, Matthew, Nathan and Alexander; mother, Cay WYNN; sisters, Dawn (Tom) SEPHTON and Mona (Steve FORGIE) WYNN; parents-in-law, Ed and Margaret DOUCETTE; brothers-in-law, John MacINNIS (Amanda LOHNES), Derek (Gail) DOUCETTE and Joe (Marge) DOUCETTE; grandmothers-in-law, Dora SARTY and Shirley MacINNIS; nieces, Allison and Erin SEPHTON, Gillian WYNN-LAWSON, Natasha, Cassandra, Chantella and Priscilla FORGIE, Jillian and Kendall MacINNIS, Tarri and Tessa LOHNES, Rielle , Marlie; Nephews, Josh and Jake DOUCETTE; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his EHS and RCMP families.
Donations in Dave’s memory and to assist Auxiliary Constable Derek BOND in his recovery may be made to the RCMP Veterans Association, Edmonton Division family support fund, at any CIBC location.
Dave has gone fishing.
