At the Moncton City Hospital, on August 28, 2018, Aurele CHIASSON passed away at the age of 93. Born in Baie Ste-Anne, Aurele was the son of late Camille CHIASSON and late Marguerite CHIASSON (RICHARDSON). He started his family in Saint John, NB, before moving the family to Sudbury, ON, for work in the mines. In 1962, he moved his family to Petit Rocher, to work at Brunswick Mines till 1974, where he became a driver examiner with the province of New Brunswick in Bathurst and Miramichi, then retired in Baie Ste Anne. In 2011 he moved to Dieppe. Aurele was always involved in many community organizations, but the one he was most proud of was his volunteering with the St John Ambulance.
He leaves behind his spouse, Marie-Anna (POIRIER) of Dieppe; his children: Therese CAVANAUGH (George) of LaPlante, Diane CHIASSON (Jacques LANDRY) of Beresford, Betty FOURNIER (Doris) of Petit Rocher North, Stella CHIASSON (Real SAVOIE) of Beresford; Lorraine CHIASSON-CLEMENT (Albert) of Terrebonne, QC and Jason (Jill DESRUISSEAUX-CHIASSON) of Norton. He also leaves behind one sister, Doreen TREPANNIER of Kitchener, ON; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and by several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine (1974); by his two children, Gerald (2001) and Roger (1996); and by a granddaughter, Katherine CHIASSON (2002).
The family will accept sympathies from family and friends at the Baie Ste Anne church starting at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 04, 2018 till the funeral mass at 2:00 pm. Donations can be made to the foundation of your choice. The family invites you to sign an online book of condolences at: www.funerairepassagefuneral.ca. Funeral arrangements under the professional care of Passage Funeral Co-operative and Cremation Centre 3754, Route 134 Shediac Bridge.
