Winfield Eugene (Pete) WHITE, of 365 Radio Street, Newcastle, died Sunday, February 22, 1987 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Newcastle 66 years ago, he was a son of the late Frank and Mabel (SINCLAIR) WHITE. He attended St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Newcastle. He was a veteran of the Second World War and member of Newcastle Branch No. 10, Royal Canadian Legion, the Militia Club of Newcastle Armories, the Northumberland Lodge No. 17, F&AM, and the Board of the Miramichi Hospital, Newcastle. He recently retired as owner of White’s Stationary, Newcastle which he operated for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mona MATHESON; two sons, Peter, of Bathurst, and Paul, of Halcomb; a brother, Melborne, of Newcastle; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Thursday afternoon, February 24 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. Burial will be in the Miramichi Cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of Adam’s Funeral Home, Newcastle.

FUNERAL –
The funeral of Winfield Eugene (Pete) WHITE, of Newcastle, was held on Tuesday afternoon, February 24 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church with Rev. John Mills officiating. The organist was Connie Kukulski and the hymns were: Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee and The Lord Is My Shepherd.
Honorary pallbearers were: Dr. J.F. KEAYS, James DALTON, Scotty GALLOWAY, Bill ALLEN, Rupert KETHRO and Jack MAYER. Active pallbearers were: Don MacMILLAN, Tom GALLIVAN, Nick DOLAN, Thomas MATHESON, Lawrence BURNS and Frank SULLIVAN.
Burial will be in the Miramichi Cemetery, Newcastle at a later date. Arrangements were in the care of Adam’s Funeral Home, Newcastle.
