Mrs. Winnifred M. (Bill) WEEKS, of Loggieville, widow of Gerald A. WEEKS, died Wednesday, October 12, 1988 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Loggieville 63 years ago, she was a daughter of the late William and Jean (MacDIARMID) RUSSELL. She was a member of Knox United Church, Loggieville, an elder, a member of the personnel committee, and a member and treasurer of the UCW. She was also on the committee of Pine Grove Cemetery. She was a former employee of W.S. Loggie C. Ltd., Chatham.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alan STEVENS (Karen), of Loggieville and Mrs. George FORAN (Donna), of Chatham; a son, Eric, of Chatham; four sisters: Mrs. Parker MANDERSON (Vera), of Loggieville, Mrs. Florence HUTCHISON, of Douglastown, Mrs. Walter COX (Bertha), of Charlottetown and Mary RUSSELL, of Fredericton; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Harold and Wilmer, died previously.
The body rested at Adam’s Funeral Home, Chatham. Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at Knox United Church, Loggieville with Rev. Renford MacKenzie officiating. The organist was Mr. Paul Harvey. The hymns were: What A Friend We Have In Jesus and The Lord Is My Shepherd. Members of the session of the church attended the funeral in a body.
The honorary pallbearers were: Alvin YOUNG, Parker MANDERSON, Burton GODFREY, Jack KING, Glen WALSH, Junior MacDONALD, Forrest WALSH and Derald DOAK. The active pallbearers were: Harold RUSSELL, David RUSSELL, Peter MANDERSON, Edward RUSSELL, Robert POTTER and Dennis SCAFFER.
Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Loggieville.
