Alphonse TURBIDE Sr., of Baie Ste. Anne, died Saturday, August 13, 1988, at Mount St. Joseph, Chatham, after a lengthy illness. Born in the Magdalen Islands, 93 years ago, he was a son of the late Martin and Julie (TURBIDE) TURBIDE. He was a retired fisherman.<br /> <br /> He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude MANUEL; six sons: Norman, Donat, Arsene, Rheal and Alphonse, all of Baie Ste. Anne, and Ludger, of Moncton; six daughters: Mrs. David SAVOIE (Almeda), Mrs. Jack DOUCET (Yvonne), Mrs. Alyre DAIGLE (Juliette), Mrs. Nazaire MORAIS (Simonne) and Miss Laurine TURBIDE, all of Baie Ste. Anne, and Mrs. Irenee MAZEROLLE (Alphonsine), of Richibucto; two sisters, Mrs. Pierre MANUEL (Cornellia) and Mrs. Isaac THERIAULT (Neomise), both of Baie Ste. Anne; 53 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren. <br /> <br /> A son, Albain, died previously.<br /> <br /> The body rested at Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church where funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday afternoon, August 16th. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Chatham.<br /> <br /> Source: Northumberland News - August 17, 1988<br /> ******************************************************<br /> FUNERAL - <br /> <br /> Funeral mass for Alphonse TURBIDE Sr., of Baie Ste. Anne, was celebrated Tuesday afternoon, August 16th at the Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Alphonse Richard officiating assisted by Rev. Fidele LeBlanc.<br /> <br /> The honorary pallbearers were: Adrienne MAZEROLLE, Edward MANUEL, Prosper MANUEL, Edgar MANUEL, Wilfred MANUEL, Alyre MARTIN, Arthur DAIGLE, Rolan THERIAULT, Albert D’AMOUR, Alphonse DOUCET, Ade SAVOIE, Charles DAIGLE, Gaston TURBIDE, Andre TURBIDE, Bernard TURBIDE and Gerald CHEVARIE. The active pallbearers were all sons of the deceased: Norman, Donat, Arsene, Rheal, Ludger and Alphonse Jr.<br /> <br /> Burial was in the parish cemetery.
