Mr. Nicola CATALANO, 48, of Escuminac, NB, passed away Friday, December 28, 2001, at Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in San Valentine Prov Pescara, Italy, he was the son of Angiola PRESSUTO and the late Francesco CATALANO. He was employed as a mechanic with Midas Muffler for 24 years, and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He was an avid fly fisherman.<br /> He is survived by his wife, Angelina [CHIASSON]; sons: Christopher, Paul [Sophie], of Escuminac; sister, Anna BANDIERA [John], of Scarborough, ON; brother, Camilla [Ruth], of Toronto; father-and mother-in-law, James and Gertrude CHIASSON, of Escuminac; sister-in-law, Martine MAZZEROLLE [Alphonse]; brother-in-law, Jacques [Jake], of Escuminac; and many nieces and nephews.<br /> The remains rested at Baie Ste-Anne Slumberroom, on Saturday, Dec. 29 and Sunday, Dec. 30. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, Baie Ste-Anne, NB, on Monday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Fidele LeBlanc officiating.<br /> Active pallbearers were: Eric, Anthony, and Philip BANDIERA, Jeremy, Liza CATALANO, and Tim CHIASSON. Honorary pallbearers were: Dale MacMILLAN, Kevin HINCHEY, Henry MARTIN, Thomas MARTIN, Dennis and Michele MARTIN, Jake CHIASSON, Remi and Ellis MARTIN, Paul RICHARD, and Cameron TILLEY.<br /> Interment in Escuminac Cemetery in the spring.
