A. Bruce SHEARER, of Riverview, and formerly of Lewisville, passed away with his family by his side at Moncton Hospital on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Born in Scotland on August 30, 1920, he was the son of the late Alexander and Annie [CAMERON] SHEARER. He was a member of The Lewisville Baptist Church. Bruce retired from Scotia Textiles, formerly Humphreys Woolen Mill, with over 40 years service. In earlier years he was an avid outdoorsman and loved to bowl.
He is survived by his second wife, Eileen [SANFORD] SHEARER, of Riverview; daughter, Dorothy Jane [Robert] MOORE, of Moncton; son, Peter [Wanda] SHEARER, of Riverview; five grandchildren: Jennifer [Chris] GREENE, of Riverview, James SHEARER, of AB, Mark, Andrew, and Stephen MOORE, all of Moncton; step-daughters, Linda [Pedro] QUINONES, of FL, and Shelly [Edward CONLEY] SANFORD, of Grand Digue; step-sons, Gary [Maureen] SANFORD, of Shenstone, and Kenneth [Theresa] SANFORD, of Hillsborough; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, M. Eleanor SHEARER in 1992; also by nine brothers and sisters.
Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd., on Sunday, September 2, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00pm & 7:00 - 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the FH Chapel on Monday, September 3, 2007 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Gordon MacLeod officiating and Rev. Jonathan Gorham assisting. Interment will be in the Burnt Church Union Cemetery, Burnt Church, NB. Donations made to The Gideon Bible Society or the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by his family.
