COCAGNE, NB - Ludger SCHOFIELD, 73, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Husband of the late Raymonde SCHOFIELD [nee TURBIDE]. Born in Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB, he was the son of the late Nelson and the late Genevieve SCHOFIELD [nee DAMOUR]. He was established in Cocagne, NB since 1990.
Ludger will be missed by his two daughters, Linda SCHOFIELD, of Cocagne, Rachel SCHOFIELD MARTIN [Parnell], of Cocagne; his son, Luc SCHOFIELD, of Doaktown; his two sisters, Robea CORMIER [Alexis], of Rogersville, Marie-Berthe SCHOFIELD, of Rogersville; his four brothers: Henri [Betty], of Moncton, Laureat [Rita], of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Jean-Marc [Doris], of Baie-Sainte-Anne, and Aurel [Diane], of Dieppe; his sister-in-law, Monique SCHOFIELD, of Beresford; his four grandchildren: Samuel, Maika, Judith and Danae; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, Raymonde [2006], Ludger was predeceased by his two brothers, Charles and Marcel.
Ludger was an Entrepreneur and was very involved voluntarily in his community. A multitude of Community causes held him largely at heart. He loved social meetings of all kinds, followed local and global news, camping and traveling. His optimism and enjoyment in life were contagious.
The family will receive condolences at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11 am with visitation at the slumber room from 10 am until time of the funeral. A donation in his memory to the Genevieve-DAmour-Schofield Scholarship Fund at the Universite de Moncton for medical students [Centre de formation Medicale du N.-B.] or to the Tree of Hope Foundation at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Donations of used clothing to the Vestiaire St-Joseph of Shediac are also welcomed. www.funerairepassagefuneral.ca
